1952 MG TD Roadster spotted this outside the grocery store this afternoon. Paused to gawk and flash the “thumbs-up” as I drove past in recognition of a serious boss.

The O’Malley frame by Oliver Peoples was one of the original styles created for the brand’s launch in 1986. It has been reissued as of Fall 2010 along with other classic OP frames in limited release at Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys and select Oliver Peoples boutiques. The original design was inspired by Andy Warhol and named for Peter O’Malley, former owner of the L.A. Dodgers. The O’Malley frame was perhaps made most famous by Christian Bale who sported them in his portrayal of Patrick Bateman in the film American Psycho. The reissued frames continue to be made in the same Japanese factories that produced the originals, ensuring that everything—down to the thinness and coloration—remains the same.
